I just got 2 month ago a secong hand EUB Stagg 3/4, I love it, I pluck, I bow, I perform on weekly bases.
Suddenly last, it stopped making sound. I tried a new battery, new cable, another amp... nothing.
Here are few things i noticed that might be clues to the problem, but i don't what to do with those:
1-I did change the strings the night before the problem occurred. Would the difference of pressure on the bridge while changing the strings be enough to for preventing the vibrations to make their way to the pick up? if yes, how do i fix that?
2-Is the circuit board inside the bass defective? the low battery indicator in always on even with new a new battery. Maybe one of the electronic component went bad, tough to tell that circuit board is so populated!
3-I noticed not a humming but a raddling noise inside the bass the previous week it happen, was the board not placed well inside and got damaged in transportation? If so, Stagg doesn't sell components separately. Where could i find that very circuit board to swap it?
4- When i turn the volume and sub knobs of the bass up, the white noise goes up too, so maybe the circuitry is somewhat ok because it's reacting?
If anyone here experienced a similar situation or has an idea of what's going on loves detective work.
