Double Bass Standing Vs. Sitting

Okay, so I play sitting strictly. I play cello style with a slight angle towards my inner thigh. Pretty standard for classical/arco. So I have been wanting to stand lately due to a back issue (car accident). I have tried the bent endpin (didn't help), and I can't get a good posture the same way as when I sit. I think what I would need is almost a seatbelt or strap on the bass to stop it from rotating. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? Keep in mind that I wanna stand and hold it in front of me. Not off to one side.

You're going to have problems holding the bass in front and not to the side. I do both, and when I sit I sit behind the bass with it slightly tilted to the left and slightly pivoted to the right. When I stand, I am standing like [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] here. The picture is rather grainy, but you can get the idea. I have never met a bassist that stands behind the bass without the angled endpin.

I've always thought that something to keep the bass from rotating would be enough for those of us who aren't so interested in the feel of bent endpins. This is a commercial gadget. It's a bit pricey, but I suppose one could make something that will accomplish the same thing.
