Stanely Clarke, Necromantix!!

I am wanting to know what pick-up system Stanely Clarke uses on his double bass. On the youtube video the sound that he gets from his bass is awesome. It's pick-up is amazing. Even when he is slapping right up the top of the neck.
Another thing i am interested in knowing is how the Necromantix got such a huge accurate bass sound on the Life Is A Grave album. Whether it was just a pickup or whether there were other tricks or microphones involved. I am new to slap bass and would like to get the Necromantix sound but also love the total clarity and natural sound of Stanely Clarkes Pick-up. I don't know if this is possible but it's worth a shot. I have heard good things about Schertler Pick-ups but am not sure how much neck sound they will pickup or if i will have to plug into the power for the preamp (STAB-B Select). I am also thinking about K&K Rockabilly Plus but don't know how well it will reproduce the natural sound of the bass. I live in Australia and it's not possible to go to a shop that has these two pick-ups set up on basses to compare. I am going to play in a Rockabilly/ Psychobilly band. I have an Ampeg Amp and a wireless system as i have played electric bass for about ten years and am wondering what sort of preamp i will need and whether it will clash with the Ampeg or wether the preamp will need to be plugged into the electricity restricting my movement and returning me to being non-wireless. Help me please my overthinking is driving me mad.....Cheers Andrew.
