Stangely Covered Basses? or guitars.

I got a wild hair to maybe do something off the wall with one of my Dean Explorers but there are so many options. I took a look around the web and mostly came across the rhinestone covering (mostly because of Taylor Swift) so, anyone have any ideas, seen anything you remember or have photos? I know you guys remember the ZZ Top furry bass and of course Paul Stanleys shattered mirror. Anything else come to mind? Skys the limit.

We have on opposite ends of the spectrum, Bootsy and Lemmy.

I think rhinestones and mirrors are already done. What about a whole bunch of LEDs so your bass can actually light up with words

There's always Link Removed, an old standby. By itself it may be a little too tame for your tastes but you could get several kinds and combine them in various ways or use it with other materials to get something more exciting.

If you like LEDs the modern surface mount variety have a very low profile. put an array on the face of your bass and cover them with a sheet of clear plexiglass spaced just above them or a thicker piece with holes drilled partway through the back where the LEDs are and you won't be snagging them as you play.
