He was playing The Mothership Connection, originally by Parliament, but he and George Duke covered long ago.

According to https://stanleyclarke.com/introducing-stanley-clarke-n-4ever the drummer is Jeremiah Collier. A couple of years ago, I saw Stanley with Mike Mitchell on drums, who really excelled at this drum-n-bass thing.

It always amazed me that Stanley Clarke, who has freakishly long fingers, plays short-scale skinny neck Alembic basses, while Anthony Jackson, who has almost comically short, stubby fingers, plays a 36-inch scale Fodera 6-string with a fingerboard wide enough to land an airplane on. They should swap instruments!

More than a few doublers don’t play fretless. They just use their uprights.

It was pretty obscure. He posted a vid of indian tabla players both playing and scatting their polyrhythms and I asked "yeah but can they sight read it at quarter note 140?".

I just started playing bass, after playing guitar for 50 years. I was recently looking for Stanley Clarke songs, and found him playing with probably my #1 guitar hero, Jeff Beck. I figured y'all might like this one, it has two bass players in it!
