Startin Out...

I've been playing for a month or so now...and I'm taking lessons once a week and just to try to get me going I'm learning how to read bass clef and what not...any suggestions on what I can do to get going other than looking up tabs and jamming around with my friends?:hmm:

Play along with every record you can get your hand on. Learn classics: ,otown, rock & roll, punk rock, country, disco, funk, jazz (if that's your thing) metal, new wave, whatever. Get piles of classic songs under your belt.

Jam with your friends CONSTANTLY. Better musicians are made when they play with other humans...a lot. "Bedroom bassists" do not sound so hot.
