static/electrical noise

I recently bought a lakland skyline JO on boxing day. It sounded great for slap/pop for six weeks and then it began making static/electrical noise when slapping/popping.

The tech at the music store resoldered all the connections and replaced the tone pot and the static/electrical noise seemed to be lessened but it's back 24 hours later.

Any ideas?

Check all of the ground connections. If that doesn't work, replace the jack.

Have you considered it may be some other equipment besides your bass that is making the sound? Check all cables, amps, speakers, and anything else you got hooked up if they might be the cause of the sounds. I know you may have already done this, but just posting if you havent already. Could possibly be the pickups too..

Isolation transformer

The tech had resoldered the connections so that is ruled out.

I tried the bass with three different amp rigs (Ampeg SVT, LM II, Ampeg BA210) and two diffent cables. I'm not having the same issue with my Spector so it is definitely the Lakland bass.

Would the jack or isolation transformer cause this?

I'm sorry, I meant isolation transformer as a solution. In your case, I'm not sure the $$$$ piece of equipment would do you any good, as they are used for grounding issues.
I'm not familiar with Lakland basses, is it active?
