Stereo Jack question

I just got a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz V. I was just looking at the wiring diagram when looking at a certain replacement pickup and it says it has a stereo jack. The bridge pickup does not have a lot of volume, about 10% of the neck pickup. I am using a standard Monster Bass cable.

Does the stereo jack / standard cable have anything to do with the reason why I am not hearing the bridge pickup when I solo it?

The stereo jack is used to switch on the battery when you plug in the bass.

How close is the bridge pickup to the strings? Neck pickups are always louder, unless the the bridge is wound hotter to compensate. This is because the strings move more closer to the neck than at the bridge. Fender does not wind their bridge pickups hotter, they are about the same as the neck.

You can try adjusting the bridge pickup closer to the strings, and lowering the neck pickup a bit to compensate.
