Hi all, I'm having some issues with the pickups in my SBMM Ray34, hoping I can get some info.

When I got the bass, the bridge pickup had a bad buzz to it, so I just decided to ditch that pickup, move the neck pickup to the bridge position, and run it like a regular H Stingray.
Well after a while I decided I wanted my second pickup back, so I found a used on Reverb and installed it. But now I'm having what I believe are phase issues.
Position 1: Bridge
Position 2: Outer Coils
Position 3: Both Pickups
Position 4: Inner Coils
Position 5: Neck Pickup
In Positions 1 and 5, I'm getting full volume, good sound. In position 2, 3, & 4 I'm getting wimpy, much lower volume sounds. It seems to tell me that I'm having phase issues, almost like I need a RWRP pickup in the neck position or something. But when I go look at replacement pickups at Seymour Duncan, EMG, Bartolini, etc. they never mention having options for RWRP and they don't differentiate between Neck and Bridge for MM pickups.
So does anyone have an idea of what might be causing the bad sounds when using coils from both pickups at once? If it's phase issues, I would buy replacement pickups, but as I said, no one seems to carry pickups specifically addressing the needs of HH Rays if they need different pickups.
