Sterling StingRay Short Scale flats

What flatwounds should I get for a Sterling StingRay Short Scale bass? It has cheap rounds from the shop I bought it from used.

Some Short Scale basses I’ve owned work fine with regular Bass strings. But both were string through and the StingRay is not.

Flats aren’t cheap and just want to make sure I get something that works.

Thanks in advance.

A couple of suggestions...

For something fairly bright with lots of growl, Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats (aka Slinky Flatwound).

For something a bit mellower and more traditional, Ernie Ball Stainless Steel Flats (aka Group Flats).

I have this bass and use Fender 9050L on it. I also use these on my Mustang PJ bass. Even though these are long scale strings, I like them so much I use them on these two basses. These sets have been on these basses for a few years with no problems and sound great to these ears.
