Any fans of this guy on here?
I don't recall ever hearing him mentioned but maybe I'm hanging out in the wrong threads.
UK solo bassist I recently discovered via a FaceBook post where he was advertising a very interesting BandCamp business model...essentially 30 quid a year gets you his entire back catalogue, plus access to whatever he produces during the year.
I've spent a day listening through samples of his work, and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. It's definitely not my usual choice...there's jazz, funk, electronica...and all sorts...some I love, some not so much.
Also, he just seems like a cool guy.
He's got my sub for this coming year at least...

Can’t say that I had ever heard of him, a little under my radar, but he certainly has been busy…

The dude's a master of effects on bass. I used to own one of his signature Elrick basses. It was a 5 string but 33" scale. I didn't love medium scale, so I ended up ordering a custom 35" 6-string from Elrick. When I owned the SLC Signature, I had some communication with Steve. Very accessible. Seems like a good dude.

He's also an avid cyclist.

He got really sick a few years back. Thankfully, he seems to be okay now.

I was wondering where he went for awhile, Steve really seemed to one of the first artists to really embrace what the internet could offer an indi artist.

He was also a pioneer of doing living room concerts. I don't think anyone back then was doing them till he did them. Smart guy and terrific musician.

Steve was doing looping and using rack effects back in the 90's. If I remember, he was using the original Boomerang, and possibly a JamMan - it's been a LONG time since then. He played a Modulus 6 for a long time before the Elrick, as well as a 5-string fretless Renaissance, and a 4-string Modulus.

He was definitely an early pioneer of solo bass and house concerts.
