Like keyboardists may re-harmonize a song, I am creating a new bass part ("re-bassifying") the keyboard bass parts. I am doing a walking pattern in A Dorian under the harmonica solo because just playing the ostinato would have been boring. I intentionally didn't play the "do do do do do" parts every time and just played damped open E, A and D strings which seemed to work fine as approximating his left-hand on the Rhodes.
