Stings for the BEAST!!! Or... BEAD(st)?

Yeah... thinking about having a BEAD "J" bass. Or... just a MONSTER 440. HMMMMMMM...
Anyone have great experience with these strings?
Soldered up. Ready to string, and set-up.
I've always used DR, and EB, in different configurations for all of my basses...

Hadda try the DiMarzio Relentless, and a 920D. I like to experiment. Seems as though they will be a mad match in someplace hot...

Are you actually talking about using GHS PW ML7200 for BEAD tuning? Or, EADG?

They're great for EADG!

I've get a taper wound 130 for the low B, but some people are just fine with tuning strings made for standard tuning way down.

never used those, but DR DDT's a great for BEAD tuning on a 34" scale 4-banger.

@Marc DLarosa if you want a taper core B string to match your Pressurewounds, Ken Smith has their Compressor strings made by GHS using the same method and materials as GHS's own brand, with the exception that their B string is tapered and is a slightly different winding length than GHS's (it should still work on your jazz bass without issue however).

I use this B string on my 5er and I love the way it sounds. Jason at FretNation can order one for you, I think I spent $11 on the B string last time I ordered from them.

I use a set of GHS Pressurewounds 44-128 Medium, M7200-5, on my Gibson Thunderbird. The G string is left off (no pun intended). They work well when tuned to BEAD. If I play fast for the lowest notes on the B string, it is best to play by the bridge for clarity.

Have all been my favorite after lots of experimenting
Depends on how bright or dark your bass sounds for which set
Stay away from any Rotosound B string, they're not great

Because they are made for DropDownTuning and they work very well for it. Cheesy slogan & marketing verbage on the packaging, but after 20-ish years of playing DDTs for b/e/a/d if memory serves me, I'm okay with it. They could use a re-branding at this point, but by now DDTs are one of those if-you-know-you-know things. Almost an insider secret, despite the fact that they're talked about every time b/e/a/d comes up somewhere.

Hey guys, sorry for the typo. Yeah, I was wondering if I should make this my BEAD jazz, as I don't have a BEAD bass. And since I was going with the Relentless Jazz pups, with the 920D control... it seemed like a good idea. For now, I just put the pressurewounds on, and... yep... IT'S A BEAST!!! I may still give it a shot at BEAD, since I'm pretty Jazz heavy at the moment. Will keep Y'all posted.

Thanks for the advice on the DDT's. I will visit that rabbit hole soon...

As much as I'm not a fan of black basses... Not only do these s(t)rings sound/feel AWESOME... the black silk was a BONUS!!!
