Stone tone?

I saw that. She’s got to be a heavy one. I made a body out of Corian several years ago. Made it thin and hollowed out as much as I could. It was still a sittin’ down bass. Still interesting and I’d like to know how long the frets hold up.

Corian is so heavy. I like the whole alternative materials thing, but there are some endeavors that are purely for the sake of doing them. This strikes me as one of them. Coming from me, that's saying something!

Yeah no kidding. It's both disappointing and confusing that he spent so much time on the CAD work and getting the thing put together, then didn't even bother with a buffer on the piezo, or a cheap generic mag pickup, to make it sound good.

I've done a handful of piezo installs. And on advice from Richard Mclish of RMC pickups using 5 or 6 in parallel does remove the need for a buffer and gives a decent tone.

My only issue with the video is claiming the tone is because the corian used to be a counter top and not a flaw in the build.
