Stoner/Doom Bassists 84: Name That Amp!

When it rains it Whores!!! Good luck!!! Just remember the golden rule though if a gal will cheat on her boyfriend to be with you, then if you become her boyfriend she will cheat on you.
Best to just play through, get some practice, and say bye bye after!

I think yes and no... Sometime's the ***** over, and people just need a good enough excuse to leave. Maybe her bf totally sucks.... The only time(s) I've ever even talked to another lady about hanging out like that I already know the relationship I was in was done... in that place of fight / make up... and just needed to be ended for good...

I wouldn't definitely heed the squanch's advice, and not get too caught up on her but ya never know she could be telling you he's out sooner than you think.

I do see some of your point he could be a putz, and women are like monkeys that swing from vine to vine a lot, make sure they got a foothold before taking a new step. I guess the level of shadyness in the scenario would be the safest guideline. Just watching out for a young buck wanting him to play it safe.

Yeah trying to figure what would offset what the black or the chrome to match the other hardware. Yes, large plastic trim all around the Dimarzio mudbucker, like it has its own trim ring.

Oh here is a pic with the neck on, sorry it is fuzzy but shows some of the tinting on the neck.

I am thinking for the next build to doing a take on a jazz bass but slap the two hot single coils in the same spot they are on a Ric 4003, maybe someone will say, hey they put those jazz pups in the wrong spot lol.

Nice! Looking righteous!

I'm anxiously awaiting these Dunwich tourbox clips! I need some new dirtness and the 2 big things that have been catching my eye are a Fuzzrocious Demon and Dunwich Cthulu. The Demon seems more "useful" but I love that tone Nick has on his original Cthulu demo, if I could make it work for both bass and guitar it'd be a contender.

I fixed my old Tel-Ray Morley Power Wah Boost last night, and it screams even harder than when I first got it. I cant believe the way this thing functions... theres a bright internal light bulb and 2 little internal light sensors, and the wah sweep controls a small vinyl curtain that literally blocks the light from the sensors. The sensors are surrounded by a small cardboard box to keep outside light out. What kills me is both the shade box and the curtain are attached to the pedal via TAPE that has degraded over the last 50 years or so... I got pretty crafty with some duct tape and JB Weld, hopefully its got another 50 years in it.

I kept compulsively running back downstairs to try different pedal combinations... the gnarliest I found was Boss OC2 in synth mode -> Grey Stache fuzz -> Morley wah -> Dinosaur Flanger -> Boss DD7 delay in short slapback. It sounds like the gods tearing the roof off your bedroom and farting in your face.

+1 on jonesin' for the clips.
I have been thinking of getting a Flanger because I love Phaser so much. Been really digging Octron>EQD Speaker Cranker>Small Stone

Thanks Brother! Now I can't wait till it is finished. Bullock pickups built the single coil to match the specs of the Dimarzio mudbucker so very curious to hear them in tandem. Man I got the partscaster build bug now, so want to put more weird pickup combination guitars and basses together.

Cool! So which is gonna be next, the T-bird or Ric pickup-hybrid bass?

LOL I was just thinking about that lol. I think I will start by keeping my eye out for interesting pickups. Still thinking of doing a Bo Diddley shape bass body with Gibby type humbuckers. But now that I sold off the Waterstone I sure miss that Ric neck pickup position sound and I think Bobby the Builder has some maple on hand. I dig P bass and Tele bass necks the most comfy wise, so trying to think if the bodies will look good with that type of neck, but the main goal is comfort with pickups I dig.

They're all done, for bass and guitar. 21 in total, a fingerstyle and pick for each on bass and one guitar demo for each. I just have to take pictures of all the pedals, organize all my notes on the settings I used and upload everything. Probably going to do that tonight when I get home from work.

The Cthulhu Fuzz sounds awesome on bass. It's a one tone pedal, so there's not much to demo. I just played around with volume and tone pot settings to get a sense of variety.

Awesoooome... thats what I really wanted to see, how it reacts to the volume knob on guitar/bass. The resonating / harmonic tones I'm hearing from the lowered volume demos is whats pullin me towards the Cthulu
