This doesn't look promising since Montreal isn't really known for car thieves. Sure there are a lot of it, like in any big city, but it's not on the level of most of the US metropolises: I would be shocked if this was a freak occurence (ie. petty thieves stealing a truck). And crack fiends usually won't steal a car but a car's content.
Surely if they took away with a truck (a rental truck no less), they certainly knew what was inside of it, meaning the whole thing was planned and they probably ALREADY have buyers waiting for the stuff. Sad.
A lot of very famous and recognizable paintings go missing each year from art galleries and they are never recovered. Doesn't mean the thief kept it for himself once the crime was found out. Means he had an "order" and only acted as an agent.
