That seems about right. Assuming 100.00/hr labor rate and a tensioner going for 80.00 or so. You didn't get ripped off.

Who had s belt tension regulator?

$262 parts and labor. How bad did I get screwed?

If it was like $230 in labor, and $32 for the part - probably not bad.

The part is cheap, but replacing s-belt tensioners is usually a nightmare.

Definitely sounds like the Fetzer valve. Better get some ball bearings & anti-freeze to fix it.
