We play these big crazy things which don't hang over our shoulder, but stand on the floor. Straps are used for transport, but not normally during performance

These came stock on my Modulus Genesis. They're available online and in just about any well-stocked music store. With a little imagination, they can be installed on a double bass. Double = twice as much fun as a regular bass.
