Strat bass

"Everyone knows you can't get the same sound out of a 32" bass" (hooey by the way)
I think I disagree. You might be able to get a good sound from a 32" scale bass, but the same sound? I dunno; with the same gauge strings the tension would be less. You could fix the tension thing with heavier strings, but they sound different, too. Maybe if both basses had flats, you could get them to sound the same.

Here... J. Backlund basses seem to be based on a similar theme:

Buskman is pretty spot on with what im trying to do :) (minus the p bass body ;) ) as for neck dive, i think it could be fixed with the common thunderbird fix. Put the strap button at the base of the neck. I cant decide if i want to go theough with it. I love the sound of the sss big al basses. But theyre just so damn ugly! If EBMM was smart they would make a stingray with the big al controls and pups, but available in the classic series colors with matching headstock! It would be the last bass i would ever have to buy! But hey thats just me
