Hey guys, my Thrash Metal band is coming back to town and we are schudeled to play a show on the 26th. I have to setup my bass (which is now in E standard) to D standard. Seeing as how I pretty much never play in D standard what string gauges should I use? I'm thinking heavy, I like stiff strings, or perhaps Medium Heavy (if they make such a thing). Thank you, I'm kinda new to this whole tuning low of my instrument.

+3 That usually works! I generally use: .045 .065 .085 .105 for standard and .005mm bigger for each string if going to a flatuning or down to DGCF. .110 D string should work well.
Thanks alot, I just didn't want to get strings that would be too much for my neck but I didn't want to have my strings be floppy. I got me some DR Highbeams (50-110) and it is getting setup right now. Curious to see how it sounds/feels. Thanks again.
