Fender 7250's (older discontinued style)
GHS Pressurewounds

You can see where the string gets thinner and terminates in a DNA-Helix shape on the 7250's, where the GHS Pressure wounds remains tight with the thinner under wire beneath the black cloth wrap and does not leave as much space for the black silk to fill. The 7250's pictured above, the small wrap spreads out underneath the silk. You can also compare the two, as one is smoother and ground and the other is a round wound. I have both strings and could take a picture, but I assure you that these USS-2's are 7250's. Like I was saying, from this picture distance, the difference is easily seen where the string wraps around the tuning post. In person, without camera color correction the differences become even more apparent in the silver color. Nickel is a brighter color. The GHS's use a Alloy that appears slightly darker (especially after use).

USS-1 might be TI Powerbass rounds; great strings. I normally use flats on most basses, but I have a set that I got used from a member here (I think we traded used sets straight up) and they still sound great after 6 months on my Fender Jag.
IF that's the case I got them in a trade of some kind. I just cant recall. I dont think I ever bought Thomstik Infield strings other than flats.
Whatever they are, I really am enjoying them. We'll see if they "last".
I found another box of small piezo speakers and in the bottom was some loose packages- empty- from strings. they could well be from the ones I have shown. It might help turn this little riddle into a matching game. I'll post some pics after rehearsal tonight.

Don't think these are GHS Boomers. They are too light and look like they have a pink/magenta hue, whereas Boomers have a dark metallic hue.... or maybe it's just the lighting

USS-1 (Unidentified String Set ONE!):
These have purple silk on both ends, with large silver colored (not brass) balls.
I love them so far.
I am betting these are Smith Rockmasters.
Then they 'could' be the ones that originally came on the KSD protoJ?
But i doubt I'd take them off unless I broke one, and all 4 are there. Which has me confused. Argh.
