String Identification

Hello!

I just purchased a used Guild Starfire bass. It came with some flatwounds on it that, to me, feel and sound amazing. Something was wrong with the E string, though. It tuned up and intonation was good at the 12th fret, but it had some weird resonances and was out of tune in the middle of the neck (15 cents flat at 5th fret).

Anyway, I had a set of GHS Precision Flats off another bass so I swapped them. No intonation issues. I like the GHS, but they are VERY different from what was originally on the bass. I'm hoping to identify what the old strings were and put them back on.

The following pics show the ball ends and silk ends of the strings I am hoping to identify. There is also a pic where you can see the GHS E string compared to the old A D & G strung on the bass. The old strings feel smooth as glass and sound very much like an upright bass. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

Yes, La Bella for sure based on the ball end colors.

The silk looks burgundy to me, in which case they could be the Low Tension Flats. The silk on the 760FL would be more orange-ish red.

yes sir, labella strings, great quality flat wounds (and also great tape wounds). not the cheapest but in my humble opinion a worthy investment.
