string length for through body.. new player here

I'll bet the first reaction is what does a newbie know about wanting Flats??

OK.. don't laugh at my question. I am a real musician but started playing bass in June. ( and I'm not a kid).. Don't laugh again.. I bought an ESP LTD 5 string active bass.

Hey.. It feels good. and it plays even better once i dialed the neck in and set the string height and intonation

getting a deal on this allowed me to get a Genz Benz Neopack 3.5 and a GB 410XLT.

Now that I can actually hold my own playing some pretty tough stuff ( it's all relative) I can hear tone issues.. ( now that I can make decent tone) I think ( especially with the 4X10 cabinet) i need to get more fundamental tone and body.. other than low B, E &A ...I'm just not feeling it. Hitting any EQ to bring out the bottom end just falls flat on D&G and I find myself rolling the tweeter back notching out the mid and HF's.. an then I'm not left with any thing.. Between the low end and the high end I'm chasing the needle everywhere...

I'm really finding this stuff out playing for real and having to crank it up.

So.. here we go.. FLAT's!!! Chromes..

My current scale is: 125/105/85/65/45 with a 34" scale

So.. can someone put it in Lay terms for me?
My gut instinct is Chromes - ECB81-5
that would be 132/100/080/065/045 ( notice the difference on B E & A but D and G remain the same.. hmmm??

And yes.. I drop tune at least 1/2 step

This is from D'Addario's website
String Scale Required
Up to 32" D'Addario Short
32 to 34 D'Addario Medium
34 to 36 D'Addario Long
36 to 38 D'Addario Super Long

On juststrings.com.. they do not indicate this as long
But.. they do clarify Short / Med / Super long..
so I'm assuming Long is a "Given"?

I'll stop assuming and wait for some one to chime in so I can learn something!

Thanks!
