String length (or string recommendations for 35" through body)

I have MTD Nickels on both my 55-02 5-string and my 6 string. Both are 35" and strung through the body. They are fantastic strings as well. Comfortable, great tension and amazing sound.

They are available with either a .130 or a .135 B string, both tapered.

I think D'addario makes Extra Long Scales as well that will fit.

It depends on how far past the bridge the strings go before they enter the body, (and how far they go beyond the nut to the tuners), but you should be good with any set of strings that are labelled "extra long scale" or "super long scale."

You might get away with the "long scale" sets, but you'd want to get measurements of the strings' lengths vs. the length required on your Peavey (as well as where the taper starts). It sucks when you get a set of strings that are short enough that their end-taper starts right where it sits in the nut slot.

Just for clarification...

That's a 35" scale bass, and you're talking about the standard "long scale" NYXL's strung thru-body?
Yes I am. Took a chance, worked out fine.

Let us all repeat the mantra:
1) measure from the ball anchor to the tuner side of the nut;
2) measure from the ball anchor to the middle of the lowest string tuner post;
3) find a set of strings where the wound, or speaking length, is between these two measurements.
