How do the Helicore Hybrids compare to Spirocores? The construction is very similar to the spiros, if I understand it correctly. What about Obligatos?

Sorry for asking this question here, but I know from experience that using the search function will send me down a bottomless TalkBass string rabbit hole. Okay, truth be told, I'm about to jump down that rabbit hole.

Edit: what kind of lifespan do people typically get out of the Helicores? Do they last forever like Spirocores?

IME, Helicores have a bit less low end than Spiro’s. I find them harsher to bow than the Spiro’s too. For a bass that is dark and bass-heavy, these may be a good choice. I can’t speak to their longevity, as I took them off of my bass within 8 months of having them. They’re just not really my thing. Hope that helps!

Obligatos have a similar tension to Spirocores, but they are much less stiff, are notorious for roll (never bothered me), are darker and creamier than Spiro’s, with less sustain, and IME a nice string for arco. I loved Obli’s when I had them on my bass, Spiro’s are just more versatile IMHO. YMMV, etc.

Thanks! I actually meant how do the H. Hybrids compare to Obligatos, but that's okay. I have experience with both Obligatos and Spiros, and it doesn't sound like the Helicores would be likely to work any better for me and my bass. Thanks again for the help!
