String Tension Question...

I recently had a set of D'addario Tapes installed on a new fretless and I like them a lot for many reasons; mainly tone. I also noticed that they didn't seem to be as tight/tense as the other flats/tape that I've played. I understand that there are lots of factors to this-- core type being one. I was still curious. I went to the D'addario site and found this information related to the tapes. I guess my question is; Can the tension info on the tapes be correct? The others I've played seem to be more like flats. I suppose that if we said round core with round windings and then tape, the lighter final wrap would lower the mass and thus lower the tension to tune a particular note. Still, seems low to me. What say you?

One thing to keep in mind when dealing with tapewound strings is the outer tape wrapping does not have a lot of bearing on the overall tension. Also, the published gauges include the outer wrap, so the actual string inside that affects the tension is smaller. For example, the tapewound set of 50-65-85-105 is more like a roundwound set of 40-55-75-95. So, the numbers above do make sense.

It's a different story with flatwound strings as the outer ribbon wrap do affect the overall tension as well as stiffness.
