Strings for Cordoba Mini Bass II

Howdy folks,

I grabbed a Cordoba Mini Bass II to noodle on and was looking for string options. I called the manufacturer and they said you must use lower tension strings like the D’Addario Nylon Phosphor Bronze that comes on them.

Are there any other options for this? I don’t mind the D’Addario strings but the Phosphor Bronze part feels a little stiff when playing.

Are those the same daddarios that come with Taylor’s short scale bass? I think the E is .090, on that short scale they are super floppy IME. So I’m not sure how they could feel stiff, or if there is anything even lower tension available. You could try a set of uke bass strings (the rubbery ones), but they are super fat and might not fit - bridge, nut, tuners.
