Strings for Gamers: New DR Multi Color strings!

DR has started shipping their new Multi-Color set!

They did not really provide much information on what the colors were, but now that I have the 4, 5, and 6 string sets in my hands I know what they are! Gamers are you ready?

The new colors match the Rocksmith Game theme!


The 4-String set is as follows:

.105 = NEON Red
.085 = NEON Yellow
.065 = NEON Blue
.045 = NEON Orange


The 5-String Set:

.125 = NEON Red
.105 = NEON Yellow
.085 = NEON Blue
.065 = NEON Orange
.045 = NEON Green


The 6-String Set:

.125 = NEON Red
.105 = NEON Yellow
.085 = NEON Blue
.065 = NEON Orange
.045 = NEON Green
.030 = NEON Purple


I was originally expecting some type of random colored set but we now have strings coded similar to Rocksmith gaming colors!

That's pretty cool. They used to have a set of non neon multi colored strings for guitar that they sold as a learning tool. It came with a little booklet or sheet with lessons on it.

I'd be tempted to jump on these, but after about 6 years of using DR coated strings, I'm ready for a different sound. I never liked the sound as much as Nickel Lo-Riders, so I'll probably go back to those.

However, if they had a set that was orange, blue, yellow, and green, I might be swayed. I've never really like red.
