The best strings that i tried so far for metal, are: For nickel strings ghs boomers 40-95 (or 45-95 i don't remember exactly) and for stainless steel Robert Trujilo signature (50-102 i think. I'ts custom gauge)

You can't go wrong with D'Addarrio pro steels.

I use these for metal and they don't disappoint.

A few metal artists such as Paul Gray and Justin Chancellor like Ernie Ball Slinkies, but the best tone I've found playing metal comes from D'Addarrio pro steels.
