Strings on a warwick corvette

What type of strings are most warwick players using? I just recently strung my corvette up with ernie balls, medium nickel strings. Made the tone really growly and sustain is good, but man do I really have to push the frets hard. Have others tried SS strings on a corvette?

Have you tried Warwick EMPs on your 'vette? I ussually like stainless strings on my 'Wicks. I'm not a big fan of Ernie balls, they seem to lose alot after a few hours.

My favorite strings for Warwicks are: R. Cocco, Warwick EMPs, and DR Lowriders. Try different brands and see what works best for you.

My warwick is pretty new so I used the stock strings that came with it until I popped the G string off in a heavy slap passage. I changed them out to ernie balls and when I first put them on they sounded great. After a few hours of playing I noticed they did get a little flatter and the tone was not as prominent as when I first put them on.

I have a set of DR low beams (marcus millers) that im tempted to put on but worried they may make the warwick sound way to bright. One thing I have noticed when listening to alot of SS strings on youtube basses are much more "clackity" then with nickels.

Havnt seen warwick EMPs sold anywhere.. arent those coated? how does that change the tone of the string?
