Strings with red thread all the way along them.

Hi everyone,
I've just bought a bass and it came with really cool strings. They have thread coating their entirety. Does anyone know what these are? I'd like to buy some for my other basses.

Can you provide a couple of pics of the strings you're talking about? One at the headstock and one at the bridge, including the ball ends. Thanks.

Great pics! That's not thread; those are coated.

First guess is DR Red Devils, but Aurora also makes red coated strings.

Thanks for the pics.

Yes, they do look like DR Red Devils, which are red-coated nickel-plated steel roundwound on a round core.

A couple of things...

Looking at where they taper at the tuner end (end of full winding), they appear to be 37.75" in winding length, which matches the DR specs better than the GHS specs.

Secondly, the GHS Infinity Steels (long discontinued) had very unique spirally finish at the tuner end.

So, I still think they're the Red Devils. Even @Jon Moody himself said so in post #4 above.

GHS Infinity Steels were limited time only; I don't think you'll find them anywhere now.

DR Red Devils are what you have.
