stripped bass bridge problem

I let the wood slivers dry for a good 4 days before attempting to reinstall the screws.
i don't wanna make too big a deal of this because the sideways string pull means it's not a high-stress mounting, but you lost much of the strength the holes would have had by waiting;

the idea is to crank in the screws while the glue is wet, so that the wood/glue composite dries compressed and "cast" into the thread shape.
