stronger tone

Im looking to beef up my tone a but, but need a good pedal. If anyone can suggest a pedal that will add more depth and strngth t my tone, it would help a lot. I already have a boss odb-3 which I use to boost my signal as well as adds some distortion.

No offence to anyone here, but to me "stronger" = better amp, or at least a different EQing on the amp. More low-mids, or even a little more bass maybe.



EDIT: Just to clarify "better": every amp has it's own charictaristics. If another amp gives you a better (IYO) tone that the one you've got, it's better. I don't really know why I feel the need to type this, especially after my time/experiences with the people on here. Strange...

Sabsanp bddi ? This baby can definately beef up your sound- It will also definately compromise the sound of your bass, not necessarily in a bad way, but it will colour the tone.

ScottyG: What bass are you playing dude? The fattest tone I've come across yet has been my Fender MIM Jazz Bass (passive!) through a sadowsky outboard preamp/D.I! I still regret I sold it back then.
But hell, today I've got an all-tube amp, so I'm more than happy

Actually I use my stereo as a PA, and always have. Use to use my PDDI as a DI/amp, but now it's all about the Line 6 Bass PODxt. So far I haven't really experimented with any effects on it, but with the 28 amps, 22 cabs, and the 6 band parametric EQ, anyone should be able to find at least a couple of great sounds.

Somehow I think that makes me sound like a w****, and like a hijack.

I agree with changing your amp settings. YOu're not really looking for a pedal to do this because you don't want to switch between "beefy" and what you're doing currently, so just up the lows and low-mids and crank it! Play around with your Boss distortion for a deeper tone, but I'd suggest getting a tube screamer or some kind of clean booster for the boost function and just letting your bass distortion do its dirty job.

You can fatten up your tone with a decent compressor (not really fattening up your tone but it can sound that way) or use some type of tube eq or tube emulator like the Sansamp.

Honestly, for the price of a few good pedals you could just get a fatter sounding preamp, I saw a used older Demeter for $350 or so in the TB classified a few weeks ago. That would be my suggestion. FWIW
