Im lookin to get wither the :

Warwick Blue Cab 60.1

or

Gallien-Krueger(GK) Backline 110

i have a passive bass that i use for rock/christian/ n soft metal...any suggetsions as to the best amp for just foolin around in my house???

Thanks :bassist:

I actually don't have any experience with the warwick but I have played the GK quite a bit. (a friend of mine has one). The GK has a really weird sound. I like the features that It offers but the cabs that I've tried from the backline series (both 110 and 15") are really muddy and have WAY too much low end for a clear signal. Plus, the backlines are really pretty heavy.

See if you can find a Laney Richter RB3 (the current model). It's 60 watts, 1X12. Don't worry about the overall volume, you'll need the headroom to get a truer tone for your bass, even in your house. It has a headphone output. I don't remember this combo's predecessor (I think it's called the Session 65) but I own it and keep it at my brother's house. Bought it some year's ago at Alpha Music in Virginia Beach. At 65 watts, it was the only sub-200 watt combo worth buying.

I also have no experience with the Warwick cab, but like the way the GK plays at the store.

And, if you don't mind the input, you can always keeps your eyes out for Ampeg B stock items. (Just in case you don't already know this) B stock just means it got shipped with a bad board or transformer or something and the factory took it back and made it all good, and then HALVED THE PRICE.:hyper:

Sorry to yell, but when I see a $1300 head for $700, that is perfectly fine, I have a little heart attack.
