Stupid Shuttle question

If I run my VT Bass as a preamp through my effects return, instead of through the input, will the DI still send signal to the mixer or do I have to go through the Shuttle's preamp?

Basic order:
Bass-->wireless receiver--->pedal board--->Shuttle effects return--->Shuttle DI--->mixer

I would think it would work fine if the DI is switched to Post EQ.
