Stupid wiring question

I’m not worth a tinkers damn on wiring but I’m trying to fix this problem.

I get a loud hum even if I touch the white wire to the open post. Is that not where it’s supposed to go? This is Geezers btw. I’ve looked up schematics and now I’m stumped.

You’ve got a dead short somewhere. From your post it sounds like you installed Geezers?

You should check your soldering at the pots and make sure there isn’t a short there. Stray wire, big glob of solder etc.

From the mess of solder on your jack, dripping all over the pick guard, it’s likely your solder job is suspect and making a short somewhere.
