I was unloading my gear at a show last night.... not the best place in town, but its pretty safe by the bar...

My guitar player has a broken ankle, so I took his amp in, and he took his pedals and guitar then went and sat on the stage....

I grabbed the rest of our gear. I put our new monitors in the cab of my truck since it turned out we didnt need them, took my head inside, come back 15 seconds later and my avatar 410 neo is GONE.

I saw some mexican guy in a black f150 looking around, driving away slowly... he had sped up when he saw me looking at him. I didnt think anything of it until I noticed my stuff went missing... Then it all clicked.

I didn't see a liscense plate, and it was the most generic looking gangster mexican guy in the most generic black f150 imaginable.

Luckily we are good friends with the other band, so I used his amp...

The only good thing about yesterday was that crazy mexican that popped all my dents out of my truck for $50.

May the theif not be able to get anything for the cab, and then get caught trying to fence it.

May his wife take up with another man, who then beats the heck out of him.

May his children not respect him.

May he end his days penniless and lonely, karma for stealing from people.

Oh honey, I am so sorry this happened to you!

Cherie :(

They really need to make amps that have thumb ID, like some flash drives have now, so you can't play it unless you use your thumb print. Obviously, you could change it, but not without the original thumb.

Sucks that it happened to you, man. :(

Look on the bright side. If he's a Mexican gangster, he'll probably get shot soon.

Nothing sucks worse than that feeling you get when you realize you've been screwed. He must have been watching you and timed it just right. Many times I have done exactly what you did and never thought twice about it. Guess I'll lock the truck between trips the next time. Sorry man... :hmm: Hope some how you find that guy. File a police report, you never know, they may find it in a pawn shop.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was about me...

But seriously, I sympathize - many years ago, I was loading out of a club and left my trusty 1966 Chevrolet window van running (it was cold, and I was trying to warm it up...). I went back in to get my money and while I was inside, someone drove off in the van - carrying my bass and amp, which was pretty much everything I owned in the world.

Fortunately, whoever took it only drove to another bar about a mile away - we found the van (with my bass and amp) the following Monday....

I was thinking exactly what Munji was when I first read this. Should always have someone to stand "guard". Anyhow, if this was the guy that stole it, I hope the fleas of a thousand camels infest his pubic area.

I know it's too late, but a good job for Mr. Brokeankle is to sit out in the parking lot with the gear until it's all inside. When I don't have a watcher, I lock my car every time I go in the bar between trips.

+1

Darker skin, dark hair, dark eyes sporting a mexican flag pendant. Sure isn't Dutch.

Hahaha, Im Dutch and found that hilarious.
Anyways, I suggest searching every pawn shop you know of and notify the authorities so that if they find the guy trying to sell it they will know who to return it to.
