I'd get the Matt Freeman, but didn't you say you wanted a 5 string? What about a Vintage modified P5?

I've looked at that one. I haven't had a chance to play one yet.This..Yamaha TRBX-305View attachment 500671
Yeah I started this thread with just 3 basses in mind. Then I changed the thread to be more about an inexpensive 5er. At this point I have no idea what I'm doing.I'd get the Matt Freeman, but didn't you say you wanted a 5 string? What about a Vintage modified P5?
yeah I considered it but didn't want yet another stingray style bass. I also didn't want something that heavy. I'll post pictures and a review when it arrives.I'd do the Fullcompass ATK205 for 249.99
Excellent choice! I'm very happy with mine.I got to try a TRBX304 today at GC. I was impressed. I ordered a red TRBX305. I'm looking forward to playing it.
UPDATE:
In November, I bought the TRBX305 in red. After a few days of breaking in the strings and getting adjusted to the 5 strings, I'm really enjoying it. I had my first gig with it last Friday and it was outstanding. I played it mostly with the vol 100%, balance 20% neck 80% bridge, bass 50% (or mid position), treble 0% (or full cut), switch in flat mode. A few tunes I wanted a P-bass tone so I rolled it 100% to the neck and it did great. Overall I am very pleased. It is starting to become my favorite bass. I have a sneaking suspicion a white one is in my future. I'll probably have to liquidate a bass to do that. This has been a great purchase.
