"Sub Dub" (Caution: Line6 Content)

There is an amp model in the Line6 BOD XT Live called 'Sub Dub,' and I think it's more than a little incredibly awesome (for those of you who are unaware, it's a very deep, but not octaved sound that, when you boost the drive, gives you a very nice, synthy distortion). The problem I'm having is that I want more effects/the ability to put my effects in a different order, so I was thing about buying a Line6 X3 and including an M13 in the effects loop.

Problem is, the X3 doesn't seem to have the Sub Dub model, so my question is:

Is there a pedal I can purchase that will give me a sound that offers something similar to the Sub Dub sound?

I know that my explanation probably isn't very helpful to those (many) of you who haven't ever heard it, however, I want to avoid octave pedals as I already have a HOG and the lack of polyphony is a problem.

I'm also a little drunk.

also something you might want to look into - the pods come with usb connectors and you can download line6 edit and get online to get tones from other pods or people can submit tones. very nice, i use bass podxt but hit me up if you want some of the sounds i use :)

Don't forget that you can use the 4 cable method with the M13 and put some of the effects in front of the X3 and some in the X3's loop.

On the X3, Sub Dub is the sixth bass model.

Edit: nevemind. You posted while I was looking at the X3 to make sure.

just some random -possible-facts: Sub Dub is based on Justin Meldal-Johnson's rig - id assumme his rig in Beck, and also Chris Wolstenholme from Muse loves the Sub Dub model on his POD (it might even be all he uses the POD for).

I've got a line6 tone port GX and im just wondering how the Gear Box software compares to the POD stuff, im not convinced its the same, but i do have Sub Dub (i bought the bass and the effects expansion packs)

on a semi-related note - i love the Bronzemaster (Brassmaster clone), i've owned two Malekko B:assmasters, a Silicon and a Germanium one, and neither sound like that, which is neither a compliment nor a slur. they're great pedals, but id love for Line6 to bring out a Bronzemaster Stompbox

I think you're talking about something like a modeled Bill Laswell/Stu Brooks tone which is just an LPF with the option of some drive after. I get this tone the Laswell way with a DOD FX25 set so that the sensitivity is too low to trigger the envelope.

Stu Brooks has at some point used a Moogerfooger LPF with the drive turned up a bit. Most any envelope filter set with the sensitivity way low will give you a dub tone, it becomes a matter of taste.

(By the by, the M13 should be able to achieve this tone easily)

I have had the Bass POD XT Live... loved the Sub Dub tone and this gets me VERY close!

It's some sort of subharmonic enhancer. It has Eq controls for 30 and 60 Hz. and you can blend the clean signal with the deep, dubby tone.

You might look for it on Ebay tho.. It's discontinued
