Sub recommendations

Hello, not sure if this is the right place for this question or not...looking for advice from my trusted hive.

I bought a big shed (12'x24') and renovated it into a bass barn/studio. It's been a fun and rewarding project and awesome to have my entire collection of music stuff in one place. It will eventually become a jam/rehearsal space.

I purchased a pair of QSC CP8 2 way speakers and a small board for the shed. These are a model below the QSC k-series but still plenty loud enough for what I'm doing, but being a low-ender I'm missing a bit of sub bass!

My question would a "studio" subwoofer be enough to bring up the low end? I see there are some reasonably priced 10" models from JBL and Mackie... Mostly for playing music through but may have some kick drum going through at jam sessions.

Thanks!

-Nick

The ELX sub is pretty good. The DSP is not on par with the Yamaha though. That aspect is what makes my recommendation. Unless there is outboard dsp in play, sub placement is going to be problematic.
In that small of room I wouldn't over think the sub placement, put it at the end where the main speakers are, try some of presets see what they do for the main area in the room you will be listening from, try moving the sub around, better yet have someone moving it while your listening.
