Double Bass sub woofer

Just today i was looking in a second hand store when i came across an interesting little speaker in a floor monitor type cab.
It was a 10" subwoofer speaker for a car.
im wondering if anybody has experimented with speakers like this?
the brand of speaker is Jansen.

Those boxes are generally one-note boomers with a lot of resonance in one narrow frequency band. Fine for making the car pulse to your favorite hip-hop, worthless for music reproduction.
