Suggestions on a new 6 string?

Hi guys,
I'm in the market for a new 6 string bass and while i have been wanting a Cirrus (I've put wanted ads up everywhere haha) I cant seem to get a hold of one. I'm after a bubinga finished one and people are either only selling red and blue finished ones or won't ship out to Australia. Ok, that rant over haha

I'm kind of wanting to get a hold of a new bass failry soon as my band is going to be recording and i'd like to use it for that. I've found a couple basses that are a possibility and just wanted everyones input.
The ones ive found are a Warwick corvette std, an MTD Kingston Z and a Sukop. The last is really nice but a little outta my price range at the moment, but if its really worth it i may hold off until i can get the money.

Anyways, just after everyones thoughts? Have any of you had any experience with these basses and which would you reccommend?

The bubinga/walnut ones are nice, but the maple/alder are also equally as nice. I have several of both (though not a 6), but I wouldn't dismiss the idea of the maple/alder Cirrus. They are sonically very similar, but I wouldn't say that they're different enough to not buy either. Keep in mind that walnut can be somewhat heavy, too.

I suggest you to buy the best possible choice you can. It always ends up with the selling the existing one (the cheap one) for a fraction of the cost you paid for it. It's so much easier to get a loan and buy the ultimate bass at once. You cannot loose that way. :) The only thing - you have to know what are you looking for. So visit shops, try as many basses as you can and then decide.
NB! Sukops are killer basses!

I wish i could! Where i live we dont have that many in the way of 6 strings, let alone decent ones so it makes it very hard to play before i buy. I just need to see what everyone says about those ones i have my eyes on haha

The neck is HUGE, it was very uncomfortable for me and I like bigger necks.

Thanks, this is good to know. I've mainly only ever played slimmer necks, like my ibanez and a Belman. Is it worth getting used to the feel of a thick neck for the sake of the tone of the bass?

Hee, just take a trip to the closest city they have enough basses to try! It is actually a very important decision. You body's health will depend on your choice by the way. If it's a wrong bass you might easily get in trouble with your hands, joints etc.
