Super Mario Theme (A good one)

I've seen a few Super Mario Theme tabs on the net, and they aren't quite what I want. To anyone who plays this, can you post the one you play, assuming it's good?

I'd also like, if it's not asking too much, any other interesting, related Super Mario tabs.

Looks good, although I think you're missing two notes in the third line. I'm pretty sure it starts like:

BassDmb18, those tabs dont seem to good...
The main theme didnt look too bad, but the flag ending seems needlessly hard and the Underground theme is completely wrong, I though everyone knew the main part was done with octaves.


I can play most of the Mario themes on bass (transcribed them myself).... yeah Im alittle obsessed

Notes:

Part A:
Straight-up fingerstyle. The idea is to do right-handed slaps in between the melody to keep the groove/beat going. On the third one, hammer on the A from the G while slapping the strings with your right hand so you get the note AND the hit at the same time. The hits are played the same way a snare drum would hit - on every 3rd beat.

Part B:
Melody & countermelody for this part. It's pretty straight forward, with your left hand playing the bass notes and your right hand playing the melody for the most part. The fingerings are noted.

Part C:
Same as part B.

Part D:
The underground theme, slapped. Low notes are slapped, high notes are popped. Add whatever percussion you want in between. I just did wankery mutes, but put in whatever you feel. The last part, I slapped the entire thing, but you can easily have a slap-pop rhythm going for it. Do whatever's comfortable.

Part E:
Same as part B, except the left hand does some of the melody for a few parts.

Part F:
The ending, again, left hand bass notes, right hand melody. The harmonic on the 12th fret (12*) is tapped with your right hand - try to sustain it as long as possible.

I did something kinda goofy but it worked. I found this guy on the internet who posted the sheet music for the super mario theme:

And then I just took the Treble clef staff and translated it all to bass clef. I have it written down somewhere in bass clef, email me at [email protected] if you want me to scan it in an upload it. I will eventually write out the tab, but just to let you know I play on a 5 String BEADG. It was a pretty good exercise as well, just remembering where all the notes are coresponding to the fretboard.

I just cant get the timing right. been playing around with it, listened to the song too. but still cant get my head around it.

any advice?

those 1st 4 notes of part 8 are i guess 32nd notes, next 6 notes are just 8th notes last 12 notes are so are just triplets
that's the way i play the part, the real song has a few less notes in that section.
