Super newbie question about Jazz Bass controls

A little background first... I am a guitar player - Just a bedroom player, not a virtuoso by any stretch. While I have played in a number of bands over the years, I am currently just playing on my own. I recently retired and decided to spend a bit more time with music and learning more theory etc. I do home recording using Logic Pro and I have been using the Trillian bass plugin there for many years.

My nephew teaches music at a university and he recently offered to gift me a bass which I accepted. While Trillian works very well I wanted to get an actual instrument and learn to play it instead of programming MIDI to get my bass effects.

So now I am the proud owner of a white Fender Jazz bass sporting 2 humbucker pickups and 4 knobs which is where my question comes in. I assume the knobs are correctly labeled in my picture below but my question is regarding the 4 position selector knob.

Coming from guitar where my selector switch is 3 positions (Neck/Bridge/Both), what exactly are the 4 positions on the bass selector switch? Let's refer to the position with the knob turned towards the bottom of the instrument as position 1 and when turned up towards the pickups as postion 4, can someone tell me exactly what each of the positions do?

Thanks so much!

Do you have a picture of the whole top? I've never seen a Fender Jazz with a four position switch nor actually humbuckers, but they have made so many different models it's probably ignorance on my part.
