Supercollider v2 Review [vs Tonebender]

To my ears, the Tonebender had a really nice vintage vibey thing going on. Those fast runs were hash on both pedals, but when the riff slowed down, the Tonebender had a nice character.

FWIW, my wife's labs are not allowed in my studio. The cats have caused enough damage already without everything being covered in dog hair.

Was using a Rickenbacker 4003 for the recordings. I believe the SC is winning right now. I put the amp at high volume at the Int' TB GTG(only needed my amp on 10oc to drown everyone's rigs :D) and it sounded much cooler than the Tonebender. Sure, the tonebender does have that classic sound to it but I can get that with the SC as well.

Did you listen to grygrx's clips? They are always very deep and bassy. I think that his choice of P bass (very deep, not to much high end) translates into a almost high-tone in his videos.

Chronicle's clips however seem to be recorded with a more trebley and high mid tone (maybe a Jazz?), and therefore, sound much different. I think I really like Chronicle's tone much better than grygrx's tone for the supercollider.

Chronicle, what bass did you use for these recordings?

I record the videos with a P bass with the tone rolled off (it even has flats on it). That is why I record clips with a bunch of different basses and make them available on bassfuzz.com

Here is a link to the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] for that review.

Recorded with
1) P Bass
2) Active Jazz
3) Fretless (piezo)
4) 5 string (short scale)
