SVT-CL

Hi Justin, how you doing? well I got a question and I need some "artist input" I have been gasing for a SVT-CL almost all my musician life but I have seen something that got me thinking a lot of bassists (pro) who were using the SVT-CL are now using Vintage SVT or the SVT-VR, and I would like to know why is this tendency isn't the CL somekind of "industry standard" I would love to know what you think of this or what you have heard since you are in the artist enviorenment =D thanks man

Uh, guess what: I like the SVT-CL better than the SVT-VR. Sometimes I like it just as much as my 1975 and 1970 SVT's. It's a GREAT HEAD. I love having a master volume. Sweet.

Wow, thats good taste man, how would you compare the SVT-CL and a SVT vintage generally speaking

The CL is a bit more clean at high volumes, seems to me. And I have two different vintage SVT's that are super tight in every way. It's just a useful sound, and you can get some nice preamp growl at lower volumes. Comes in handy, even if it's a different type of breakup than power tubes.

You can overdrive the power tubes on a CL just like on any SVT, but it just gives you that extra feature which I like.
