Double Bass SWR 550X for DB

Anyone ever tried one of these for DB? I picked up the Low B 2 and the guy has one I can buy for $250. It seems to have enough power but I don't know if you could get the voicing to get a natural sound for DB. Could just use the power amp section and a different pre. Did not have my bass when I picked up the Acme so I couldn't try. Deciding wether to go back?

I used an SWR Bass 350 for years with great results. I found a small preamp helped with matching the input impedance. Many are of the opinion that the Aural Enhance control is no good with an upright, but I found a little went a long way in certain rooms where you needed a little more sparkle from the amp sound. Generally I kept mine set flat with maybe a little cut in the low mids. Good luck!
