SWR brass jacks?

So, what is the significance of brass jacks on my SWR SM-500? I think I've seen them on some older SWRs, too. Am I getting extra vintage SWR mojo?

The 1/4" speaker jacks are brass too, but since I'm running it bridged and have to use the speakon jack I'm losing out on them.

Are you shure they are brass? I've seen alot of gold plated connectors supposedly to prevent corrosion.

Pretty sure, I've seen gold jacks, these seem to be unplated brass.

If they're brass and don't start getting dull and turning green after a few months, they're plated with something.

I think it is a '99 model, it has the flat chrome logo.

The tip contact and solder lugs of the jacks are nickel plated, just the sleeve, nut, and washer appear brass.
