SWR Goliath 6x10 vs Ampeg SVT 810e

I am considering trading my SWR for the Ampeg just to have somthing different. Ill be pairing it with a 1001rbii. Never owned one and want to at least say I have. I shouldnt be losing anything I dont think? Neither one is exactally rare either. Opinions? This is for classic metal hard rock gigging. Thanks.

Never owned any of them but they have pretty different features... one is vented and has a tweeter, the other one is sealed and tweeterless. I'd expect a modern sound from the SWR (and maybe it's also louder, expecially under 100hz) while the 810 has that particular sound. I've played the 2x10" version and it sounds nice but it's not as bright and "full-range" as the SWR for sure. They're both pretty heavy and big so...

Triad did a pretty good job outlining the differences, although I don't know about the louder part. Only played the Goliath 810 and 410's, but they're good cabs, although way too bright for my tastes, even with the tweeter off.
