I recent years, SWR has gotten more knocks since Fender
bought it, the same way Tobias basses were knocked after
Gibson bought Tobias from Mike Tobias.
SWR used to be made by hand in one buliding, with very high
standards and quality control. Many of the same quality
obsessed people worked there for the whole time it was in
business. You could call and get a part shipped the next day.
Anyone try to get a part lately? Still great gear, but sadly a
step down from where they were, just as Tobias basses aren't
the same as when Mike examined each one berfore it left the
building. jmho
